Service Inclusion at
Volunteer San Diego
Our Service
Inclusion Programs
Volunteer San Diego is committed
to making its volunteer opportunities
inclusive to individuals with disabilities
|
|
The DOORS program (Disability
Outreach Offering Resources
through Services) is a Points of
Light Institute initiative to offer more
volunteer opportunities to veterans and
other individuals with disabilities. DOORS
volunteer positions provide professional
development opportunities in a variety of
areas, including but not limited to
financial empowerment. In fact, any
opportunity currently listed with Volunteer
San Diego can become a DOORS project.
The
support from the Tarjan Center at
UCLA has allowed Volunteer San Diego to
dedicate even more time and effort to
improving our Service Inclusion program. The
Tarjan Center provides "leadership in
education, research and innovative practices
that supports the quality of life and
community inclusion of all people with
disabilities." |
